Today, there are many preachings and Teachings of the word of God. Some of these teachings and preaching are centred on prosperity or how to get rich quickly – probably very quickly. The word of God on how to get rich is very clear in the Holy Bible. Let us read Mark 6:33 meditatively and prayerfully too. The Bible is so conditional or can we say it gives choices. God will say do this and I will do that for you; and when we do our parts, He does His own. He never disappoints or fails us. That is that.
Upon all prosperity and get rich quickly many Christians preach and teach today, we have all for gotten that something could stand on our ways of getting such prosperity and riches we are all looking for. It is good to have the knowledge of such thing and its operational strategies. We are talking about Satan and His demons.
Remember that for too long now, the work of demons has been dismissed by many as curious practices in the culture of unbelievers. It has not been considered as a problem which invades our lives, homes, churches and even nation. We have been told in our past write-ups that demons are an organised force of powers against which believers wrestle (Eph 6:12). Demons are the agents through which Satan works to accomplish his purpose in the world.
For instance, seducing spirits affect the spirit of man; unclean spirits affect the soul of man – while spirits of infirmity affect the body of man. They oppress, posses and obsess man. If we are to wage effective warfare, we must learn how to deal with demonic powers that obsess, oppress or possess the body, soul and spirit. There are people around us who are tormented, troubled, and even possessed by the powers of darkness known as demons.
The ministry and teaching of Jesus demonstrated that demonic spirits are a real force of evil. What Jesus taught concerning demons and how he dealt with them yields valuable information about the strategies of Satan. Jesus accepted the fact that Satan is the ruler of a host of demons. He taught of the reality and powers of demons.
Jesus said that the casting out of demonic powers was one of the signs that the kingdom of God had come. (Read Mark 12:22-30, Mark 3:22-27). We can equally read (Luke 11:14-23) for a summary of what Jesus taught about demons. A large portion of the ministry of Jesus involved dealing with demons. It is the example of Jesus and the authority of His name that provides the scriptural basis for dealing with demonic powers. Jesus ministered to all who cam with demonic problems. Peter said of Jesus “God anointed Jesus of Margaret with the Holy Ghost and with power; who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil” (Acts 10:38).
As we have mentioned, demons are used the Satan to oppose God, His plan, His purposes and His people. They also war against unbelievers to keep them from the truth of the Gospel. Demons control specific territories mentioned in (Daniel 10:2-13). Demons also work through personalities, through men and women to accomplish satanic objectives in the world.
Opposition to God’s will is Satan’s main objective. The word Satan means adversary. Satan is primarily God’s adversary (Zechariah 3:1, 1Peter 5:8) and His followers that is demons, have different natures. They are lying spirits, deaf and dumb spirits, spirit of infirmity, seducing spirits and unclean spirits. Satan uses them to war against man on body, soul and spirit.
